D.I.T.

The most recent crew development in the past few years is the emergence of the Digital Imaging Technician (D.I.T.). This role would best be described as a combination of a loader and a lab technician. One of the biggest misconceptions is the concept that a D.I.T. simply transfers data. Although data transfer is certainly one of the aspects to the role, there is a big difference between a good D.I.T. and a data wrangler. All of our D.I.T.'s not only transfer the footage to multiple working and backup drives, as per your specific requirements, but they can also transcode to various different file types for post use. They can offer lookups on set to help visualise further post treatment and guide you on monitor and camera settings to make sure that what you are viewing is exactly what you want to see. The D.I.T. role can often be the difference between a smooth shoot and a disastrous one. For this reason The Digital Cine Company make sure that our D.I.T.s are qualified and professional, providing a perfect hinge-point between production and post.

OTHER CREW

Film Crew Besides the specific requirements of a D.I.T. in this new world of digital cinema, there are many classic roles that still need to be filled. The Digital Cine Company still recommends the use of a separate camera department that includes not only the focus puller but the clapper/loader as well. As a service to our clients we offer advice on crew requirements and can organise necessary crew members for your production. All members of our crew list have been highly trained and are very reliable. Whether you are looking for us to crew the entire production, or simply to supplement a few key roles, we're merely a phone call away.
